  • Define and/or review requirements for implantable medical device systems that meet the expectations and uses of the customer, regulatory agencies, and the business.
  • Ensure customer needs, use cases, and user workflows are translated into specific, well-written requirements, design features, and associated integration test cases. Document tradeoffs, rationale, and potential solutions. Collect and analyze design inputs (customer needs, business needs, etc.) and transform them into high-quality engineering requirements.
  • Lead/participate in technical architecture activities to drive complete system definition, establish performance metrics, and define system interfaces.
  • Perform/participate in Risk Analysis activities, such as FMEAs and Hazard Analyses, for systems, features, and implementations with the intent to eliminate or mitigate the risks in the identified scenarios.
  • Perform system architecture and design for all phases of system development, including concept, design, fabrication, testing, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Lead, coordinate, execute, and document system analysis and design activities, including but not limited to architecture definition, interface management, performance modeling, system integration, and design failure modes and effects analyses.
  • Identify technical development risks, develop and execute risk burn-down plans
  • Facilitate cross-functional engineering and project team communication to drive design decisions, align on test and integration strategies, review test results, identify technical issues, and manage their resolution
