Job Description

Do you enjoy working with equipment, or learning how electronics function? The Field Service Engineer role is the position for you. Our Field Service Engineers go over thorough classroom style and on the job training, to guarantee their success in this role and in their career.

Shift: Rotating shifts schedule each week so that customers have ongoing support

The Day to Day (Responsibilities):

  • Work in a clean room environment wearing protective and lightweight clothing, i.e. Bunny suit, hood, booties, safety glasses, and gloves, as well as safety boots.

  • Performs on-site installation, troubleshoot, service, repair of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and Performs upgrades and modifications to equipment as needed.

  • Orders and installs parts.

  • Instructs customer operating technicians on system operation and maintenance.

  • Employees must also maintain standards of conduct acceptable to both TEL and customers to maintain credentials for being on customer site(s).

Must Haves (minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree; or associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree; completion of military technical training and field experience may substitute for an associate degree; high school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without Sponsorship.

  • Ability to lift at least 35 lbs.

  • Basic professional communication skills and ability to build constructive workplace business relationships.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in any of the following: pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics

  • Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Job duties are often performed in confined areas in a clean room environment, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Duties also include application of proper industry safety procedures when working with dangerous elements or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Occasional travel to TEL factories, training facilities and customer locations may be required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

A clean room garment may be required to be worn for lengthy periods of time.  PPE is Required including, not limited to,  consistent wearing of safety glasses, safety shoes and a bump cap. Job duties may require walking up to and in excess of 10,000 steps and walking up and down multiple flights of stairs per shift (12 hours).
