Position Summary

As the Healthcare Solutions, Strategic Account Executive (SAE) for CVS Pharmacy, you will serve as the strategic lead for a Book of Business primarily composed of, but not limited to national and regional health plans and Medicaid clients across the U.S.  In this role, you will be responsible for growing and maintaining these health plan relationships through the development and execution of a tailored strategy which leverages CVS Pharmacy’s value proposition to meet both the Health Plans’ and our Corporate goals.  This individual will report to the Director of Healthcare Solutions Sales and will have direct interaction with Executive Leadership both internally and externally.  In addition, the role requires the ability to lead work across functional areas within our organization and health plans, coordinating activity, driving innovation, and meeting the market needs of your clients.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Translating the overall Health Plan strategy into an action plan and executing on sales goals for your Book of Business
  • Using your consultative selling skills to identify and influence new and up-sell opportunities of CVS Pharmacy solutions within your client base
  • Clearly communicating the client vision to internal business partners to help CVS innovate and deliver compelling products to B2B partners
  • Being accountable for growth targets including revenue contribution for existing clients and prospects.
  • Developing and maintaining senior level relationships both internally across the CVS enterprise and externally with clients
  • Executing and managing contracts to ensure the strategic partnership is driving increased revenue for CVS Health
  • Maintain an awareness of other Enterprise activity for your client and facilitate connections internally to other business units to enable Enterprise growth.

Your success as a Healthcare Solutions, Strategic Account Executive (SAE) will be driven by your ability to grow revenue for the assigned book of business for CVS Pharmacy.  Your understanding of the Healthcare landscape and managed care environment, as well as keeping up-to-date on market trends will enable you to position CVS Pharmacy programs and solutions effectively to client decision makers.  The contributions you will make as a Healthcare Solutions SAE will position CVS Health for long term growth in the competitive pharmacy and healthcare marketplace. 

The candidate may be located in one of the CVS Corporate Hubs or remotely throughout the U.S.  You must have ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of cumulative experience in the PBM, health plan, pharmacy, or related healthcare field with a focus on account ownership and strategy.
  • Travel may require but is not limited to flights, overnight stays, local travel, travel on short notice and other travel deemed necessary by the Company.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver’s license.
  • Must possess personal vehicle sufficiently reliable to meet the requirements of the job and is appropriately insured.
  • Must be able to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • 8+ years of cumulative experience in the PBM, health plan, pharmacy, or related healthcare field with a focus on account ownership and strategy.
  • Knowledge of the current healthcare landscape
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy landscape – cost drivers, key issues, and opportunities
  • Strong understanding of Health Plan Payors and specific lines of business – Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial, Exchanges
  • Knowledge of quality standards including Medicare Stars and HEDIS
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal – individual needs to be comfortable presenting to Senior Executives, Subject Matter Experts, Pharmacy and Medical Directors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.

Education

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$67,900.00 - $149,328.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
