Position Summary

The Sr. Director of U.S. Market Access is a leadership position responsible for enhancing, executing, and overseeing market access strategies, with a focus on U.S. private payers and related stakeholders (HTAs, utilization management entities, integrated delivery network (IDN)-owned health plans). This individual will build and lead a team to secure coverage and facilitate patient access to Medtronic’s innovative cardiovascular products and therapies by engaging with commercial payers and other external stakeholders and collaborating closely with internal teams. This position will act as a subject matter expert in payer relations, managed care contracting, and market access.
In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare environment, this position is expected to anticipate and skillfully navigate the multifaceted challenges of commercial payer reimbursement. This pivotal leadership role demands a sophisticated grasp of market dynamics, deep subject matter expertise and experience with payers, and the convergence of clinical advancement with economic value. The individual must demonstrate strategic vision, executive presence, and the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration, all while setting the direction for market access initiatives and shaping commercial payer reimbursement strategies. Important skills include creative thinking and problem-solving, a willingness to take decisive action, and the capacity to influence high-level payer decisions, to rapidly advance the organization’s position in a competitive and ever-changing marketplace.
This role will support multiple cardiovascular businesses in Medtronic, including coronary, renal denervation, peripheral, and vascular therapies.
