Job Description Summary

We are looking for Etgal Power Plant Engineer to join the Etgal Power Station team, located in the Ashdod Port.
In this role you will support the Station Manager, manage the Operational and Maintenance process

Job Description

Main responsibilities:

    • Support the Station Manager to meet the contractual and commercial targets of the Power Station and replace him in his absence.

    • Implement and execute GE Power Services Operations and Maintenance processes.

    • Control Operational and Maintenance documents as outlined on the site's Master list of Controlled Documents.

    • Develop operational objectives designed to achieve maximum plant efficiency, to meet customer requirements in the safest, most reliable, economical, and environmentally safe manner.

    • Develop, implement, monitor, and revise operating procedures to ensure plant equipment is operated in a safe, compliant manner that enhances reliability.

    • Coordinate training and resource plans to ensure an adequate operational level.

    • Identify equipment and system operating failures and abnormal conditions, and implement corrective actions as appropriate with assistance.

    • Support budget control.

    • Responsible for the development and recording of operations data, including weekly and monthly reports.

    • Coordinate the day-to-day operational activities, operational training, and administration of the plant Operators to assure a positive work climate.

    • Establish and monitor sampling programs to ensure that the chemistry specifications for site equipment and systems remain in specification for the required operating, shutdown, or lay-up condition.

    • Maintain chemical inventories, sampling equipment, testing equipment, and laboratory areas as assigned.

    • Assist with the coordination and implementation of all plant modifications and retrofits.

    • Participate in outage planning and execution to ensure personnel safety and on-time completion of the work scope.

    • Facilitates and coordinates proactive risk assessment and root-cause analysis of equipment failures and ensures corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

    • Develops and implements process improvements utilizing Management of Change procedures.

    • Coordinate with GEV O&M Support team, GE Engineering, and other O&M support teams for the resolution of complex issues relevant to the Power Station.

    • Coordinate with other GE Power services elements (Turbine Service, Engineering teams, sales, O&M) to ensure optimum results during daily operation/outages for the Power Station.

    • Lead the Plants’ performance and record periodic operational checks and tests of the plant equipment in accordance with GE requirements, equipment manufacturer’s recommendations, and applicable laws.

    • Maintain contact with the Grid company, Fuel and water supply companies, Emergency services, Local communities, and other necessary partners.

    • Implement and manage the Permit to Work System for plant activities in accordance with GE policies and Local Legislation.

Qualifications:

    • Mechanical/Electrical/I&C/Process Engineering degree

    • Previous experience working in a Power Plant

    • Previous experience in a customer-facing role

    • EHS knowledge

    • Previous experience working in an international company

    • Advanced computer skills, including knowledge of MS Office

    • Fluent in English and Hebrew, both written and verbal

    • Leadership capabilities

    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the team

    • Self-starter able to work on own initiative and work well in a team environment

    • “Hands-on” approach, able to combine office and field work

    • Ability to work well under pressure and successfully multitask

    • Ability to prioritize resource allocation and activity focus in line with business objectives and

    • contractual obligations

    • Able to be on call during nights and weekends
