This Practice Supervisor will lead a team of approximately nineteen, to include RNs, MAs and NT(s) supporting fourteen providers. The specialties in this clinic are ortho general surgery, urology, visiting specialties and obstetrics.

Our ideal candidate will come with a solid clinical background ready to keep the practice running efficiently.

Scope of work

Directs the activities of staff within assigned area and ensures the delivery of efficient, smooth patient flow and patient satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Facilitates a positive work environment which supports staff and encourages professional growth. Guides, mentors, motivates, acts as resource and support to staff, encouraging continual growth as a professional and self-directed learning.
  • Responsible for staffing of positions at assigned location. Arranges coverage for sick call-ins, vacations, leaves, other time off. Notifies Practice Manager of any staffing shortages and/or needs.
  • Assumes a leadership/training role and delegates appropriately to support staff to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
  • Interviews and/or screens potential candidates for hire. Conducts performance evaluations of staff, sets goals with staff and works with staff to improve performance, as necessary.
  • Provides input into the budget, monitors monthly expenses, and approves invoices as directed.
  • Provides input into the development, implementation, and evaluation of unit/department/division/service/goals and prioritizes them so that they are consistent with patient care/administration needs.
  • Acts as a customer advocate and provides ongoing communication with customers, staff, and multidisciplinary team regarding customer, staff, management, and quality issues.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in business, management or other related field Required.
  • Strong clinical background, RN, Medical Assistant, Preferred.
  • 2 years of recent relevant supervisor experience in health care/medical practice or related work Required.
