As an Image Processing Engineer - Medical Devices (m/f/d) supporting our R&D Team at the Teltow site, you will be trusted to conducting R&D for real-time medical data processing, designing software for both native and web applications, analyzing technical specifications, and documenting, testing, and realizing prototypes and final products.

 In this role, a typical day will include:

• Dive into the realm of real-time data processing, data mining, and visualization for cutting-edge medical products in ophthalmology

• Design and develop medical software

• Craft technical specifications and designs, ensuring documentation is top-notch

• Bring prototypes and final products to life through testing and realization

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON

(you must meet at least three of these criteria):

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics

• Expertise in computer vision, image processing and analysis in Python or Matlab

• Implementation skills in C / C++

• Proven track record in designing modularized, testable software

• In-depth knowledge of software architecture and algorithm design

• Proficiency in developing performance-critical and safety-critical algorithms and code

• Fluent English (oral and written)

NICE TO HAVE:

• Mastery of C / C++ coding with a deep understanding of design patterns

• Experience with multi-threaded/parallel and distributed programming

• Familiarity with machine learning, openCV and GPU programming (pyTorch, tensorflow, …)

• Excellent understanding of networking protocols and technologies

• Experience with module testing, test automation, scripting, and tools
