The Opportunity

P&G is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer to lead quality, consistency, and excellence across our DevX organization. DevX is responsible for the IT Engineering job family as well as the software development lifecycle and software engineering. You will serve as a leader of the IT Engineering Community – ensuring the wants and needs of the community are reflected in everything we build and do on behalf of them. The ultimate priority of this position is to grow a team of engineers. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build a team of engineers – hire, train, and grown a team capable of building, running, and maintain global enterprise scale of production systems.
  • Ensure engineering quality across the portfolio in the space, driving a high level of excellence.
  • Partner with one or more of the engineers in the org or in the community on development problems – supporting the products we have, the users that are leveraging and integrating into the products, and developing new products.
  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance
  • Develop features and improvements to the product in a secure, well-tested, and performant way
  • Craft code that meets our internal standards, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale enterprise environment. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code reviews.
  • Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has a passion for building and developing highly capable teams.
  • Is meticulous and analytical in nature, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated to work with diverse business scenarios, prioritizing multiple priorities and have a business and consultancy mind-set, while technically savvy.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • A Bachelors or Master’s degree Or Equivalent Professional Experience in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years proven experience in software development including technical experience within Python, CI/CD tooling, and Terraform.
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent these problems.
  • Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate about complex technical, architectural, and/or organizational problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
  • Experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to work onsite in Cincinnati, OH based office 3 days per week.

QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)

Experience developing and deploying production software.
  • A history of solving hard problems with creative solutions.
  • Experience with cloud native development on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiar with working in a Platform Engineering environment.

Pay Range: $150k – $207K

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of equal opportunity factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skills, and level of experience.
