Our Finance team serves as a trusted advisor to the company, guiding critical business decisions through insightful analyses & thought partnership with executive leaders. 

Toast's Finance, Strategy & Analytics team is seeking a Corporate Finance leader who will oversee a high-performing team responsible for the company's consolidated financial planning processes, including monthly close and forecasting, annual budgeting, management and Board reporting, as well as ad hoc requests from Toast’s executive team. This individual will also play a crucial role in guiding our financial planning systems strategy, roadmap and execution, along with building our first-ever Finance & Strategy Center of Excellence team based in Chennai, India. This role will report directly to the VP, Corporate Finance & Strategy, collaborating across the Finance, Accounting, Tax, Treasury and IR  teams, in addition to cross-functional business partners, to execute key deliverables and strategic projects on behalf of the CFO, SVP of Finance and other senior leaders. 

 

About this roll* (Responsibilities) 

  • Establish and enhance best-in-class forecasting and reporting processes. Drive Toast’s monthly and quarterly financial processes, including analysis of budget vs. actual close results, forecast updates, standard financial and operational reporting, production of exec presentations and Earnings prep
  • Understand and highlight key performance indicators and drivers of change within the financial results and present results to the senior management team to inform strategic decision making. Develop a thorough understanding of Toast’s business and key metrics in order to synthesize trends and communicate risks & opportunities that influence business outcomes
  • Own company-wide headcount tracking/reporting, trend analysis and reconciliation activities, partnering with Toast’s Finance and Talent Acquisition teams
  • Be the central point of contact across the Finance and Accounting teams for all planning, financial execution, and investor reporting
  • Be a thought leader and partner cross-functionally to drive operational efficiencies and strategic initiatives while scaling the company
  • Develop analytical and reporting tools to seamlessly track and measure financial results, key operational metrics, and spend efficiency
  • Partner with the broader Finance & Strategy team, key stakeholders and business leaders across the organization to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations
  • Lead and mentor FP&A team by providing financial leadership and analytical support while also driving actionable insights that inform strategic decision making for senior management team
  • Maintain and improve predictability of financial results through enhancements of internal processes and partnership across the organization
  • Implement improvements & automation to streamline current processes. Proactively identify areas of opportunity and drive execution
  • Build out our FP&A Center of Excellence function in India by supporting hiring, documenting & transitioning tasks, and centralizing work to streamline and drive efficiency across the Finance team 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

  • 10+ years of work experience in FP&A, Investor Relations, investment banking, consulting, or private equity; prior Corporate Finance experience with a CoE or shared services org a plus
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to distill complex analyses into structured outputs and present to all levels of management
  • Effective project management skills; highly organized, independent, and self-motivated
  • Ability to think creatively and critically, and thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous work environment
  • Strong analytical skills including financial modeling, data/trend analysis, with proven ability to summarize complex data into key takeaways
  • Highly proficient in advanced Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides 
  • Experience working with financial systems, such as WorkDay, Adaptive, Greenhouse, NetSuite, Salesforce, or other similar products
  • Positive attitude with high aptitude to learn new things quickly. Team player eager to further develop and grow with us
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and hunger to continually up-level current approaches and processes
  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative, diverse, inclusive, and open-minded environment with a desire to contribute to a thriving culture 
  • Experience building strong teams through active development and recruitment of incredible talent
  • History of building positive relationships with people and teams across a broad, diverse organization

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.

$196,000$314,000 USD
