Purpose;
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for deploying, operating, maintaining, and optimizing cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and high availability.
In this role, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and technical teams to implement cloud solutions that support business objectives and enhance the auto finance market's growing needs.
You will have a good understanding and experience of infrastructure and networking elements, driving best practices and continuous improvements in cloud
operations.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Design, Build and code solutions which are consistent, well documented and open to future extension utilizing the Azure platform and Terraform IaC tooling.
Develop and maintain automation through build and deployment tooling, striving to embed and improve continuous integration and delivery practices.
Cater for non-functional requirements such as quality, security, performance, and resilience
Build in guardrails and safeguards for broader platform adoption
Perform and participate in regular well-architected reviews to drive continuous improvement
Work with the broader organisation to ensure that the platform meets governance and compliance requirements
Build observability in to understand how the platform behaves at scale, and work to reduce time to resolution
Stay off the critical path and enable the broader organisation through a self-service platform
Be cost efficient and ensure that asset owners have access to accurate and timely data
Support any platform incidents and work to improve the platform to prevent such incidents in future.
Ensure that any newly implemented solutions are well documented and able to be supported and easily understood by the team
Work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation and third parties to achieve defined business outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Technology or equivalent
Azure Cloud certifications preferred.
Experience
Familiarity and experience in Azure App Services, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, Virtual Machine Scale Sets, Virtual Machine Availability Sets, Serverless (Functions / Automation Accounts) Load Balancers, Firewalls, vWAN, VPN Gateways and Network Virtual Appliances, Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Sentinel – demonstratable KQL understanding & Azure Virtual Desktop (Nerdio)
Foundational knowledge with Infrastructure, Azure AD (MG, AU, PAG, PIM/CA), AD (Including Group Policy), SAML Auth, Oauth, Ipv4, DNS, BGP, PKI, Monitoring, Alerting, Escalations, Remediation, dashboarding, Windows Desktop/Server, Linux, Kubernetes (AKS preferred), Docker and, an understanding of microservices architecture, MSSQL (AGs, Replication etc), Cosmo dB, Postgres DB, Storage Account Tables / S3 Tables, mongo DB
Experience in Shell/Scripting – PowerShell preferred
Exposure to with CI/CD Technologies – Jenkins, TFS, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Gitlab
Exposure with IaC – Terraform / Ansible preferred
Knowledge of O/M365 – Defender for Cloud, Exchange, SharePoint, Intune, License management
