The Red Hat Pulp Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Brno, Czechia, or remotely within Czechia, with occasional travel to Brno.
In this role, you will use your software development skills to contribute to the upstream Pulp project (https://github.com/pulp) and help make the code production ready for several Red Hat products like Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Update Infrastructure (RHUI), Ansible Automation Hub, and others. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with the distributed engineering team to ensure Red Hat solutions reach customers in a timely fashion and with excellent quality.
Implement new features in the upstream Python project
Ensure the code is well tested including writing automated tests
Submit patches for bug fixes to the community and review patches from other community members
Collaborate with a globally distributed development team
Publicize your work through through publicly available demos, blogs, web postings, or conference presentations/workshops
What You Will Bring
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent working experience
Experience with Python (preferred) or other programming language
Solid problem-solving and collaboration skills
Experience in debugging and testing
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
The following are considered a plus
Experience developing in a Linux environment
Experience in container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift
Experience with relational databases like Postgres and MySQ
Experience with CI/CD platforms like GitHub Actions or Jenkins
Experience with the Django framework
