Important Note:   To be considered for this Senior Actuarial Analyst position, candidate MUST have a minimum of actuarial experience, SOA (Society of Actuaries) exams, and a Bachelor's degree. Need to meet the Rule of 5 (e.g., 2 years actuarial experience and 3 passed actuarial exams).

Position Purpose: This State Lead actuarial position focuses on ACA marketplace actuarial pricing rate development.

  • Assist in pricing, financial analysis, and risk assessment to estimate outcomes for the Marketplace (ACA).
  • To become the subject matter expert on the actuarial pricing rate development in your assigned state(s).
  • Perform actuarial analyses supporting pricing assumptions.
  • Develop technical expertise and help contribute to continuous improvement in team’s modeling and process

In this Senior Actuarial Analyst role, you will:

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes
  • Assist with developing probability tables based on analysis of statistical data and other pertinent information
  • Analyze and evaluate required premium rates
  • Assess cash reserves and liabilities enable payment of future benefits
  • Develop and run data reports
  • Assist with determining the equitable basis for distributing money for insurance benefits
  • Participate in merger and acquisition analysis

 

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. Combination of years of experience and number of actuarial exams passed equals or exceeds 5 (Rule of 5). For example, 2 years of actuarial experience and 3 passed actuarial exams.

 

License/Certification: Combination of years of experience and number of actuarial exams passed equals or exceeds 5 (Rule of 5). For example, 2 years of actuarial experience and 3 passed actuarial exams.

 

Preferred technical skills:

  • Excel, knowledge in at least one coding language (ideally some exposure to R and SQL).
  • Good coding ability (be able to manipulate data sets and build models).

Pay Range: $67,400.00 - $121,300.00 per year
