Job Description
We are currently seeking a IT Program Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing programs and associated projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on time delivery within budget, and according to the specified requirements. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, communicating with stakeholders, and overseeing resources to achieve desired objectives. Reporting to the Global Director, IT Planning and Project Services, the successful candidates will be responsible for managing a program(s) and associated project(s). The Program Manager will also have People Leadership responsibilities for select Project Managers within the IT and PMO Governance team. This opportunity is a contract role based hybrid at our Mississauga, ON office location.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE;
1) Program and Project Management
- Program and Project Planning: Develop comprehensive program and project plans, defining scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Create work breakdown structures (WBS) and allocate resources accordingly. Identify and manage risks.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment of program and project objectives with organizational goals. Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular updates.
- Resource Management: Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, budget, and materials. Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as needed to optimize project performance.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Proactively address issues that may impact project scope, schedule, or budget. Implement contingency plans as necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to project specifications. Conduct regular quality reviews and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain program and project quality.
- Budget Management: Monitor budgets and expenditures, tracking costs and variances throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure programs and projects are delivered within budget constraints and justify any deviations.
- Communication: Facilitate clear and timely communication among team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties. Prepare program and project status reports, presentations, and documentation as required.
- Change Management: Manage changes to scope, schedule, or resources, assessing the impact on objectives and stakeholders. Implement change control processes to document and track changes effectively.
- Closure and Evaluation: Lead closure activities, including formal acceptance of deliverables, handover to operational teams, and post-project evaluation. Capture lessons learned and best practices for future programs and projects.
2) People Leadership
- Coach and develop members of the team.
- Help to identify gaps across project teams, make recommendations on project teams, and help recruit and onboard new members of the project management team.
- Build and maintain high-performing teams who are dedicated and experienced in their craft and bring out their best through servant leadership.
- Capably delivers results through others. Establish clear direction. Challenge and support others to create results but also develop new capabilities.
- Own the performance development process for the team and assess promotion readiness to help each contributor evolve in their career.
- Ensure retention and staffing targets are being met. Create a transparent, collaborative and productive work environment.
- Establish a culture of delivering impact through ongoing learning, cross-functional collaboration, project management best practices, and industry-leading consulting skills.
- Identify current gaps within the team/department structure and work with Leadership on resourcing plans.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering) required; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
- Minimum 7 years experience as a Program Manager and Project Manager, managing technical, complex and multi-year projects and programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong people leader, with excellent relationship management skills
- Solid understanding and experience with managing projects for IT Security and Infrastructure related projects.
- Broad cross-industry experience and domain expertise – industrial manufacturing sector, intercompany, third-party distribution and branch retail operations experience an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, Planview).
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentations skills. Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g. ITIL, ISO, etc.).
WORK AUTHORIZATIONS AND TRAVEL;
- Travel is required to supported global locations in EU and North America (up to 15%)
