Job purpose

The Customer Contract Manager will be responsible for managing, preparing, negotiating, and recording business contracts on behalf of GCG.

The Contract Manager is primarily responsible for managing all contracts that their employer is negotiating and entering. Contract Managers must be shrewd, and knowledgeable about the details and potential benefits of any contract.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1.    Craft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions.

2.    Research a contract’s terms, alerting parties to clause changes, price increases, etc.

3.    Create and maintain relationships with customers and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts.

4.    Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.

5.    Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters.

6.    Monitor contracts in the Contract Lifecycle Management Software and moves forward with close-out, extension, or renewal according to what’s best for the company.

7.    Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.

8. Guaranty the adherence of new businesses to Contract Guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent commercial skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while remaining detail oriented.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Management, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven contracts management experience.
  • A strong understanding and working experience of the proposal development process.
  • Experience in reviewing contracts to ensure compliance with all necessary requirements.
  • Expert in reviewing proposal submissions for accuracy and compliance to applicable requirements.
  • Subject Matter Expert to support senior management regarding contractual and business issues.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite of programs to include MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish is a must.
  • Airline industry experience is a plus.
  • Project lead in fact finding and continue process improvement efforts.

  • Leads negotiations with customers, including responsibility for the end-to-end management of customer negotiations and ongoing contract management.
  • In conjunction with management, develops negotiation strategies based on assessment of baseline analytics, financial targets, contractual terms, Independence strategic objectives and industry trends.
  • Ensures contracting is consistent with Contract guidelines.
  • Accountable for ongoing management of an assigned contract portfolio including assessment and resolution of issues, contract performance monitoring unit-cost budgeting, ongoing provider engagement and incentive plan performance.
  • Ensures that non-standard contract elements are communicated to appropriate departments and obtains Plan approval prior to submission to supplier/customer.
  • To ensure contract terms are administered correctly, contract requirements are communicated timely and accurately to internal stakeholders and operational areas throughout term of each contract.
  • Works closely with local teams to ensure contractual terms are known, and issues are being resolved in accordance with contractual terms.
  • Negotiates single-case agreements as needed.
  • Communicates negotiation status to Manager throughout process.
  • Assists in the development and improvement of operational processes.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

The position requires limited occasional domestic and international travelling.
