About the Role: 

 

The Head of Sales will lead the commercial sales function for Virgin Media Television, with full accountability for revenue growth across linear, digital, partnerships and advanced advertising. Reporting to the Director of Commercial, the role will lead a high performing sales organisation, shape go-to-market strategy, strengthen client relationships, and embed data- and AI-led approaches to unlock growth and improve effectiveness. The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering VMTV’s  

commercial strategy and long-term growth. 

The Role:  

Sales Leadership & Revenue Delivery 

  • Lead the commercial sales function, delivering sustainable revenue growth across linear, digital, AdSmart, sponsorship and partnerships 

  • Own revenue targets, forecasting, pipeline management and performance tracking 

  • Establish clear KPIs, accountability and sales discipline to ensure consistent delivery 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Build and lead a high-performing, accountable and engaged sales organisation 

  • Develop capability across digital, advanced advertising and partnership selling 

  • Embed AI-driven tools and ways of working to enhance productivity, insight and  

  • client outcomes 

  • Implement clear structures, coaching and performance frameworks 

Go-to-Market & Commercial Strategy 

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies across all revenue streams 

  • Shape commercial products, pricing and packaging to maximise yield and unlock growth 

  • Translate audience, content and platform strengths into compelling commercial proposition 

Client & Market & Cross Functional Leadership  

  • Build strategic relationships with key clients and agencies across Ireland and the UK, while driving new business growth 

  • Position Virgin Media Television as a partner for growth and innovation in the market 

  • Collaborate with Content, Sport, Trading, Strategy and Operations teams to deliver integrated commercial outcomes and contribute to the broader business strategy 

The Person:  

 

  • 10+ years’ experience in media or commercial sales, including senior leadership roles 

  • Proven track record delivering revenue growth across linear, digital, and partnerships channels 

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial strategy, go-to-market execution, and pricing 

  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing accountable sales teams 

  • Strong understanding of advanced advertising and digital monetisation   

  • Commercially astute, with strong forecasting and pipeline management capability    

  • Demonstrated ability to drive transformation, innovation, and new revenue opportunities 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing at senior levels 

  • Data-led and forward-looking, using insight and AI to improve performance
