Job Summary:

Supervises the front office staff and Billing specialist which includes assisting with hiring, firing and disciplinary actions requires as all communication between management and staff. Overall responsibility for ensuring a smooth patient flow in all daily front office and billing operations. Attending weekly meetings with manager and practice coordinators from referring practices to coordinate throughput and customer concerns.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Key Role/Responsibility * Cross training and providing coverage for all office positions as needed. * Training and recruitment of new office staff * Overseeing front office flow and communicating to management regarding throughput issues * Attend weekly meetings with practices regarding throughput/ order issues * Handling all patient concerns regarding treatment, financial responsibility and wait times * Managing all direct reports to include coaching, hiring and firing as well as feedback for evaluation. * Daily reviewing charges, and work ques * Answering incoming calls courteously and professionally * Schedules follow ups appointments for approximately 65 pts a day * Completes information for referrals as needed * Maintains adequate logs to assure quality control and appropriate follow up * Confirms all New patient appointments via phone day before * Flexes off to maintain level of productivity * Comes in on weekends for high volume days to assist with checking in pts * Knowledge of other computer applications to assist in job duties * Attends and assist with working insurance denials to obtain reversal * In Managers absence attends all meetings in mangers behalf and reports information upon return of manager * May need to perform other duties as assigned by manager * Reviews daily PAS newsletter and updates team members as needed Key Role/Responsibility * Assist with patient registration and recording of information, obtaining proper signatures * Gathers all information required by governmental agencies * Obtains all insurance information with copies and insures billing specialist is given copies * Explains hospital Policy/procedure for financial responsibility upon check in for New pts * Enters patient orders via scanning * Prints labels for next day appointments * Evaluate need for financial assistance and refers to drug company for co pay assistance or drug replacement * Maintain collection date, throughput data * Daily time and attendance Key Role/Responsibility * Timely enter patient benefits for collections * Assist billing specialist when high volume * Cross train for billing specialist * Call MD office for authorizations Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

High school diploma Required and Associate's Degree Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 5 years experience medical front office. Preferred and Previous supervisory role Preferred and Must have extensive knowledge of insurance plans Required and plus the experience and ability to perform job functions for all front office positions as well as basic billing specialist functions. Required

    Required Minimum Skills:

    Epic preferred, Medical terminology ICD 10 and HCPCS. Knowledge of insurance filing and requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and display a positive attitude (see WellStars Standards of Gold)
