    Summary 
    "Final Assembly" operators set up, operate, monitor, and maintain the equipment as well as the product processed through the Final Assembly area. 

  •  

QUALIFICATIONS 
Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent.  Must be willing to learn team skills and work in a team environment.  Daily routine requires being on your feet nearly 100% of the time, walking, and standing, stooping, or bending.  Must be able to lift, push and pull to remove extinguishers along the assembly line and pack extinguishers where average to heavy weight is involved.  Must be able to read, write, and understand simple math and work from blueprints. 

DUTIES 

Fill Equipment 

  • Monitors equipment and controls of Fill and Material Handling System; monitors inputs (air dryer, compressor, chemical flow, vacuum pressure, etc.) and makes the appropriate system adjustments. 

  • Inspects product and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process. 

  • Maintains equipment (vacuums equipment and area, cleans fill heads, etc. performs required Preventative Maintenance, etc.) per Work Instructions. 

  • Changes over equipment for various model shells (units) and chemicals. 

  • Reworks rejected units and returns them to the system. 

Pre-Test Equipment 

  • Manually loads/unloads units to the conveyors in the event of a Material Handling equipment breakdown. 

  • Occasionally performs material handling duties (restocking parts, removing pallets, etc.). 

  • Monitor and operate valve assembly and insertion robots. 

  • Monitors equipment and controls of the auto torquing station (cycle times, torque parameters, etc.); manually verifies the torque of the head assembly per Work Instructions. 

  • Monitors the Torque "Gaping" station and makes the necessary system adjustment to system. 

  • Monitors equipment and controls of the automatic Gassing station. 

  • Monitors gas mixture equipment and changes gas cylinder (banks) when required. 

  • Manually inserts Ring Pins into units. 

  • Manually assembles the Safety Tie. 

  • Verifies the pull force of the Safety Seal per Work Instructions. 

  • Monitors material handling system. 

  • Inspects product and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process. 

  • Maintains equipment per Work Instructions and makes appropriate system adjustments. 

  • Changes over equipment for various model shells (units). 

  • Restocks product component parts (Head Assemblies, Ring Pins, etc.) when required. 

  • Reworks rejected units and returns them to the system. 

  • Manually loads/unloads units onto/off the conveyor in the event of a Material Handling equipment breakdown. 

Mass Spectrometer 

  • Monitors equipment and controls of the Mass Spectrometer and handles rejected shells accordingly. 

  • Monitors oil levels. 

  • Monitors the Labeler equipment. 

  • Maintains equipment and tools per Work Instructions. 

  • Changes over equipment for various models. 

  • Inspects shells (critical dimensions, visual checks) and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process. 

  • Manually loads/unloads units onto/off of the conveyor in the event of a Material Handling equipment breakdown. 

  • Occasionally performs material handling duties (restocking parts, removing pallets, etc.). 

Packaging System 

  • Monitors equipment and controls of Packaging Machine, Print and Apply Labeler, Palletizing Machine, and Stretch Wrap Machine. 

  • Manually places literature and hanger hook into cartons. 

  • Maintains equipment performs required Preventative Maintenance per Work Instructions. 

  • Changes over equipment for various models. 

  • Inspects un-cartoned and packaged units and records results per First Article Instructions and/or Work Instructions if required; makes appropriate system adjustments as a result of the inspection process. 

  • Manually loads/unloads units onto/off of the conveyor in the event of a Material Handling equipment breakdown. 

  • Occasionally performs material handling duties (restocking parts, removing pallets, etc.). 

Other (as needed) 

  • Performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned by the Supervisor. 

  • Supporting the training and development of peers within the organization.

  • Must have Lock-out tags after 2 months 

  • Attend and participate in all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings. 

  • Ability to recognize chemical hazardous labels. 

  • Spill management and clean-up. 

  • Air shutoff locations. 

  • Capability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements. 

  • Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly.
