Allina Health has a robust Mental Health and Addiction Clinical Service Line that offers the full continuum of care including integration, specialty outpatient clinics, addiction, co-occurring services, partial hospitalization, day treatment, emergency, and inpatient care.

Key Position Details:

An an APRN on our outpatient geriatric mental health team, you will be part of a sub-specialty track and enhance our strong multidisciplinary relationships with primary care, neuropsychology, and neuroradiology specialists. In the first year of practice, you will be on the United campus (Saint Paul), where you will receive more mentorship and training from established geriatric psychiatry team members and begin building your outpatient practice.  After the first year, you will transition to the Unity (Fridley) Hospital Based Clinic and maintain the outpatient clinic practice.  

 

The geriatric mental health team includes specialty nurses, LICSWs, neuropsychology, and psychiatric providers. Program components include eConsults, education, outpatient therapeutic and psychiatric interventions, and inpatient therapy, with the potential to expand both the geographic reach and build out the levels of care in this program. The geriatric mental health program in located within our Allina Mental Health Hospital Based Clinics.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

• Consults with providers to assist with ongoing management of the behavioral health needs of patients.
• Engages the patient and family to develop treatment plans that address identified goals.
• Develops and leads staff education in psychiatric issues.
• May participate in on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree - Completion of accredited psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program
• 1 year of experience in mental health and addiction or family practice with an emphasis on MH patients, 2+ years experience preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty required upon hire
• ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
• Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire
