About us:

Linklaters is a multi-national commercial law firm, with 31 offices in 21 countries worldwide.

We have been named as one of The Times’ Top 50 Employers for Women, recognised by Stonewall as a top employer for LGBTQ+ inclusion, and by the Social Mobility Employer Index as a top employer for advancing social mobility.

We recognise that one size does not fit all. Our goal is to embed flexibility across our firm by giving everyone the opportunity to work in an agile way, whether as a regular pattern or on an ad hoc basis, and we will be happy to discuss this further.

We love hearing from anyone who is enthusiastic about changing the legal industry. Not sure you meet all qualifications? Let us decide! Research shows that women and members of other under-represented groups tend to not apply to jobs when they think they may not meet every qualification, when, in fact, they often do! At Linklaters, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and strongly encourage you to apply.

About the role:

We are looking to expand our team with a Business Development & Marketing Manager for our Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations (LAI) practice on a 12-month FTC. Reporting to the Senior BD and Marketing Manager, you will support the London LAI practice by assisting partners and associates in developing and implementing BDM plans and initiatives. This role offers a truly global work experience with the chance to be involved in strategic projects that drive innovation and shape the future of our business.

You will be welcomed into the practice and sector marketing team, a globally diverse and friendly group dedicated to driving revenue growth, strengthening our reputation, and nurturing client relationships. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the broader London Marketing team, including specialised teams in events, digital marketing, pitch support, and both external and internal communications. Our team thrives on a collegiate atmosphere with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration with colleagues.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Business Development:

  • Support the Senior BDM in developing and implementing BD plans aligned with the LAI strategy.
  • Drive BD activities for one or more global specialisms and a sector on behalf of the practice.
  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of directory and awards submissions.
  • Create and lead collaboration with the wider firm and the BDM teams across multiple groups including Corporate, Financial Regulation Group, Technology Media & Telecommunications, Energy & Infrastructure, and Restructuring & Insolvency.

Client Relations:

  • Support the practice in nurturing priority client relations.
  • Plan and facilitate the execution of BD initiatives relating to client targeting.

Team Collaboration:

  • Help coach and develop other members of the LAI team.
  • Share experiences to drive improvements and increase efficiency.
  • Take responsibility for and ensure consistency across the pitch process.

Marketing Initiatives:

  • Lead, oversee, and manage the core BDM infrastructure needed to support partners and clients.
  • Assist in raising the practice’s external profile through product or market-specific campaigns, thought leadership, PR, client and industry events, and online presence.

We are ideally looking for:

  • Confidence and ability to advise at the partner level.
  • Ability to coach and develop juniors of varying levels of experience.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibility and deputise for the senior manager.
  • Existing manager-level experience.
  • Knowledge of disputes would be highly preferable.

This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available.
