Position Summary
The ViiV Privacy Lead serves as first line support and the internal point of contact to ViiV above-country (regional and global) employees & line management who are responsible for processing personal information. The ViiV PL helps ensures PI is handled in line with applicable Privacy Policies, Standards and SOPs, providing clear guidance and oversight so privacy risks are identified, managed and escalated appropriately.
You will lead privacy efforts across teams, guiding how we collect, use, and protect personal information. You will work closely with business owners to design appropriate controls to manage the Privacy risk, this role is a highly technical, hands-on individual contributor position.
Key Responsibilities
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all privacy-related matters for ViiV above-country (regional and global) activities, consulting with Legal, Privacy Counsel, and/or the EU DPO as needed.
Drive the deployment of the enterprise-wide Privacy Operating Model, in line with all GSK/ViiV policies, regulatory requirements and timelines.
Ensure consistent application of the Privacy Standard across ViiV above-country (regional and global) teams.
Provide advice and oversight on above-country (regional and global) processing activities, to support compliance with applicable laws.
Monitor and report privacy risks through relevant governance forums (e.g. Risk management and Compliance Board, Data Privacy Governance Board)
Ensure the Management Monitoring of Privacy related risks for ViiV above-country (regional and global) activities is established, that findings are communicated to the ViiV VP & Head of Compliance as needed, and that issues are managed and assurance is provided to the ViiV GC/CCO and ultimately the ViiV Leadership Team (VLT) RMCB.
Partner with Business Owners (BOs) and key stakeholders to resolve privacy issues, initiate and support the completion of Privacy Inventory Questionnaire (IQ) and Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), and review and approve IQs and PIAs.
Support BOs in drafting appropriate privacy notices for ViiV above-country (regional and global) activities and coordinate review with Legal and/or Privacy Counsel, where required.
Support Privacy Operations in handling Individual Rights Requests (IRRs), where required.
Identify Privacy training needs and deliver guidance and training for employees and complementary workers as needed.

Basic Qualification
We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Significant knowledge & management experience with compliance programs and processes
Knowledge and experience of implementing Privacy risk management processes and controls.
Practical knowledge of UK and EU data protection laws, including GDPR.
Other Skills required:
Demonstrated pro-activity, initiative, and good judgment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex privacy rules, regulatory obligations, and risk considerations in a clear, structured, and actionable manner, enabling informed decision‑making by non‑privacy, technical, and business stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels of the business.
Attention to detail, ability to cope with pressure, deliver work of the highest quality to demanding deadlines.
Proven ability to operate both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated pragmatism, operational focus, seeking to assist others in finding practical solutions.
Proven networking skills and ability to achieve through engaging the co-operation of others even without asserting authority.
Cultural awareness and passion for supporting the HIV Community.
Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
Professional privacy certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent.
Experience in the life sciences or healthcare sector.
