We are hiring a Quality Control (QC) Contract Worker to support our Quality Control Department. Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, this role is responsible for helping ensure all quality, food safety, and regulatory standards are met.  This 3 month contract role will also provide coverage for all QC positions as required, including coverage during training, vacation periods, and emergency absences.

  • Flexible schedule based on coverage needs (The role requires availability for 8‑ or 12‑hour shifts, which may be assigned anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., on any day of the week from Sunday through Saturday.)

How your role contributes to that mission:

  • Perform routine laboratory analyses in support of Quality and Food Safety, including compositional, microbiological, and other required quality tests

  • Conduct routine chemical analyses (e.g., concentration, appearance, and related testing) in accordance with approved methods and procedures

  • Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, verified, and maintained to support accurate and reliable testing results

  • Compile, analyze, and report laboratory results accurately and in a timely manner to support operational decision‑making

  • Manage product “On Hold” and “Release” controls, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements

  • Investigate and troubleshoot out‑of‑specification results, escalating issues as required to protect product quality, food safety, and environmental compliance

  • Prepare cheese samples for analysis in accordance with standard operating procedures

  • Perform sampling and re‑sampling of cheese for microbiological and compositional analysis to support verification and continuous improvement activities

  • Perform sampling and re‑sampling of ingredients for microbiological analysis in alignment with food safety programs

  • Complete required monitoring, verification, and documentation activities to support HACCP and GMP compliance

The profile that shares this sense of contribution:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a science‑related field (e.g., Food Science, Biology, Chemistry)

  • Familiarity with HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is considered an asset

  • Ability to carry out standard laboratory procedures in an operational setting
