Job Description Summary:

This position performs a variety of procedures utilizing nuclear medicine, mobile nuclear medicine and PET/CT equipment. Performs independently under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine (NM) Manager and Radiologists (Authorized Users).

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school of Nuclear Medicine and/or Radiological Technology required. 
  • Current Montana Radiological Technology License as required by law.
  • A minimum of one (1) of the following certifications required: 
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
    • NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) and/or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) or must be successfully obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire.
  • Current CPR preferred or must be successfully obtained during orientation.    
  • Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy required. 
  • To be eligible for the Mobile Nuclear Medicine Driving portion of the position: 
    • Must possess Montana CDL Class B License or above to drive Mobile Nuclear Medicine Unit. 
    • Must possess a good driving record clear of moving violations in the past five (5) years and no major driving offenses (DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.).
    • In addition, personal vehicles/rental cars used for LH business:
      • Current Driver’s License required.
      • Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect any, Major driving offenses (i.e.; DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.)
        • State law minimum liability coverage limits required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Performs Nuclear Medicine, Mobile Nuclear Medicine (NM) and PET/CT procedures.
  • Participates and coordinates patient care and flow.  Greets and escorts patients from inside the medical facility to the mobile vehicle.  Assists patients on/off the vehicle as needed.  Uses mechanical lift when necessary.
  • Maintains understanding of and follows current exam protocols.
  • Maintains accountability to technologist competency and quality control standards.
  • Assists with maintaining and ordering supply stock as directed.
  • Exhibits knowledge and ability to operate/troubleshoot equipment on mobile NM vehicle, including network communications.
  • Maintains equipment and coordinates repairs and service as needed or directed.
  • Prepares the mobile vehicle for patient care.  Stocks vehicle with appropriate supplies for necessary procedures.  Prepares examination room for use.
  • Readies the devices for the day by setting up and powering on the computers, printers, and other peripheral equipment.
  • Driver job duties as appropriate with qualifications and training. May be required to drive the mobile unit in special situations.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
