Job Description:

Are you passionate about sustainability and data analysis? In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of Greif’s sustainability initiatives, managing the coordination, collection, analysis, verification, and reporting of crucial environmental, social, governance, and financial data. Your work will support a variety of sustainability reports and assessments, including Greif’s annual sustainability report following GRI standards, CSRD, SASB, TCFD, CDP responses, and EcoVadis assessments, as well as internal reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

In addition, you’ll conduct environmental footprint analyses of Greif packaging products using the Greif Green Tool, enabling our customers to make informed decisions about their packaging choices and their impact on the environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the collection of environmental, social, governance and financial data required

  • Coordinate with all business units and regions to collect all required data within the outlined timelines in the required format

  • Organize data in a user-friendly format following guidelines provided

  • Report and share data collected with all relevant stakeholders on a monthly basis

  • Support implementation and upkeeping of new ESG data platform including setting up sites, hierarchies, approvers and data providers in the system

  • Ensure that all energy, waste, water invoices from all sources are submitted by each facility and uploaded monthly

  • Verify the ESG data collected for accuracy, consistency, alignment with formats, standards and guidelines followed working closely with our facilities and all relevant stakeholders

  • Conduct data analysis to identify progress made, trends and opportunities

  • Conduct environmental footprint analyses of Greif packaging products using the Greif Green Tool, a Life Cycle Analysis based calculator:

  • Work closely with account managers, product managers and EH&S employees to collect required data to run scenario analyses using the Greif Green Tool to answer our customers questions and help them select packaging products and services with the least environmental impact.

  • Respond to customer requests including ESG questionnaires, surveys and data requirements

  • Provide assistance to facilities and sustainability teams with their data collection needs

  • Work with facilities to create and update waste matrices

  • Create and update ESG reports and dashboards in PowerBI

  • Conduct research and benchmarking studies for the sustainability team

  • Coordinate the creation and submission of external ESG award nominations

  • Update Greif’s sustainability intranet site every quarter

Key Performance and Incentive Metrics

  • Completion of timely data collection and reporting

  • Data accuracy and verification

  • Receipt of emissions data verification certification by a third party

  • Timely and accurate Green Tool analyses

  • Collaboration with other teams and businesses

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in business, environmental science, sustainability or data analytics

Experience

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Excel, R, Python, or SQL

  • Experience with data visualization platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools

  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate data insights effectively through charts, graphs, and reports

  • Ability to work independently to solve complex problems, make recommendations, and contribute to process improvements that drive sustainability awareness and success

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal, communication and leadership skills

  • Must be able to work with many different departments within the organization with a demonstrated ability to create relationships and facilitate work across company functions

  • Knowledge of ESG reporting standards and requirements a plus

  • Interest in sustainability a plus
