GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:   

The Business Development Analyst II works closely with Distribution leadership to provide data analysis in an effort to increase wholesaler and distribution partner productivity by identifying high-propensity prospects, shortening speed to first-ticket, and increasing advisor productivity (average number of tickets) to achieve sales metrics outlined through objectives and key results. The incumbent collaborates with business partners on data integration, reporting, and analysis, proactively identifying, recommending, and developing streamlined business intelligence and analytics strategies professional, and provides operational support to marketing initiatives that advance the organization through executive priorities.

*This position is located in Des Moines, IA and will need to work a hybrid, on-site schedule*

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Partners with the sales management to analyze and validate existing business practices while identifying process improvement opportunities, including but not limited to territory opportunity and compensation analysis.
  • Works with Data Management team to extract and integrate data from various data sources including but not limited to the Data Warehouse as needed for various sales initiatives.
  • Executes projects, with a focus on Salesforce, reporting initiatives and additional sales enablement tools, including consultation with programmers and UAT testing.
  • Utilizes predictive analytics to forecast various market and production trends.
  • Develops queries and reports, and prepares ad-hoc data analysis to explain the financial and operational impact of various marketing initiatives, evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and/or measure customer satisfaction or retention.
  • Integrates Bank/Broker Dealer and producer data utilizing internal and external data sources to be used to direct sales activity and improve efficiency.
  • Generates files with high propensity prospects and coordinates sales team review for use in marketing campaigns.
  • Creates data files with high propensity prospects for all broker dealer conference activity including event invitations, confirmations and follow-up activity.
  • Creates Campaigns in Salesforce including activity tasks for internal and external sales.
  • Effectively presents information in a format easy to understand for stakeholders.
  • Generates production reports for internal and external partners while continuously and proactively improving quality and efficiency.
  • Conducts internal training on CRM, reports, and dashboards, maximizing employee effectiveness with each tool.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in business or a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics or related field of study; plus two (2) years of progressively responsible related business analysis and analytical experience supporting a similar marketing or sales function; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with SalesForce, Marketing Cloud, Tableau and Google Analytics preferred.
