SUMMARY

Accountable for processes and teams in one or more of the following areas: Facilities Management, Facilities Planning, and Facilities Security Planning. Plan maintenance programs for building and grounds of an organization including the upkeepof equipment and supplies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Assist in the management of, direct, monitor and inspect janitorial services, pest control services and maintenance projects for Airport terminal and other Airport buildings.  
•    Monitors ancillary contracts including those for solid waste removal, pressure washing, window cleaning, contractor clean-up, and interior landscaping.
•    Respond to needs of customers and requests for service (tenants, the public and co-workers).
•    Coordinate the set-up of meeting rooms, the moving of furniture and special events.
•    Coordinate repairs with Building Maintenance.
•    Assists with snow operations within the terminal as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•    Knowledge of the methods, practices, supplies and equipment used in commercial and industrial recycling.
•    Knowledge of safety precautions and work hazards involved in work assignments.
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and deal courteously with airport tenants, fellow staff and the traveling public.
•    Ability to comprehend and accurately administer contract specifications.
•    Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

•    Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience or Associate’s degree and seven years of experience required.  Must have supervisory experience.  
•    Experience with environmental regulatory compliance preferred.
•    Membership with the International Executive Housekeepers Association, and C.E.H., R.E.H. or ISSA CIMS GB Expert preferred.


COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES: 

Knowledge of:

•    Considerable knowledge of the work performed by workers supervised.
•    Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards, environmental regulations, safety precautions or trade and the ability to enforce adequate safety precautions against such hazards.
•    Considerable knowledge of and skill in the use of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment related to the assigned areas of work or specialty.

Skill in:

•    Excellent organizational and reasoning skills required, as well as the ability to follow directions, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, complete projects accurately and on schedule, and maintain and prepare records and reports.

Ability to:

•    Ability to supervise, assign, and inspect work of a crew of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled subordinates.
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, tenants, and the public.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS    
Physical Requirements:

Spends 50% of the time walking, 15% standing and remaining time sitting, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, driving, etc.  Most of the work is inside.  Exposure to chemicals, fumes, solvents, dusty and slippery, uneven surfaces.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

•    Standard shift hours apply, subject to emergency and routine calls back to work.
•    Valid driver’s license with no more than 6 points and the ability to obtain and maintain a City driving permit.
•    Certain criminal convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
