Position:          Associate Medical Director, Eliquis Worldwide Medical Affairs (ref.# 4150)

Duties:             Lead research and strategic planning to determine and develop better understanding of unmet medical needs. Drive and engage in clinical investigation, research and development by leading the cross-functional Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Diagnosis Workstream in partnership with Alliance counterpart. Generate integrated evidence generation and communication plan for Diagnosis Workstream. Execute key projects with external stakeholders representing technology platforms as the internal scientific expert. Serve as functional area lead and scientific point for agency development of medical content for scientific venues including international congresses, advisory boards, scientific publications. Lead scientific development and conduct medical training for Worldwide (WW) field-based and HQ-based medical team members. Analyze emerging clinical data landscape and keep current with relevant therapeutic literature by attending conferences and meetings. Guide medical literacy across agency groups and provide understanding on cardiovascular (CV) disease states, clinical trials, treatment, and landscape competition by articulating effectively verbally and in writing complex scientific principles. Establish and maintain external scientific thought leader (physicians, scientists, and medical organizations) peer-to-peer relationships in the Diagnosis arena to identify additional areas to improve patient outcomes. Provide WW medical review of scientific content utilized in medical-to-medical and promotional materials and guide in-country teams for similar activities. Ensure that all medical affairs activities are compliant with policies and processes. Support Head of Eliquis WW Medical Affairs in development and oversight of the cross-matrix execution of the annual medical plan and associated medical deliverables. May telecommute 50% of time from anywhere in the United States.

Requirements: doctorate degree (or foreign equivalent) in medicine, biomedical engineering, pharmacy or life sciences plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience. Experience must include working in cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment and managing external agencies; generating, analyzing and interpreting clinical trial and published data; and scientific communication and presentation. The required skills do not need to be maintained over the full term of required experience to reflect demonstrable ability in the skill set described in the job duties.

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $ 161,500 to $218,500/year, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation is decided based on demonstrated experience.
