What you will do
The District Manager is responsible for working collaboratively with key leaders across all functions to proactively plan and develop a District Installation and Service team. The position reviews customer activity and business practices to determine operational effectiveness and maintains internal and external manpower and programs within the District to increase quality, productivity speed of delivery and customer retention while meeting all financial targets. The District Manager will ensure that the Installation Specialist will secure the Subcontractor resources and Trades to meet current and future implementation needs.
This position requires an advanced understanding of products being implemented, structured wiring standards, network design, construction industry standards, CEC/NEC (National Electric Code), OSHA training, and the construction trades & materials used.
The ideal candidate can multitask and has strong organizational, communications, interpersonal leadership, and negotiation skills. This role is responsible for working with customers to ensure all requirements are completed on time and with 100% satisfaction.
How you will do it
People
Manages and maintain proper Field Service Technician levels to meet all SMA SLA
Ensures all required training and certifications have been completed by District personnel to meet all product and customer’s requirements
Ensures all Prov/State and local licensing and permit requirements are meet
Manage and maintain proper inventory levels for all District employees to maintain SLA(s) and control costs.
Ensures proper distribution of workload and maintain expenses within budget
Manages and maintains an adequate number of outside contractors to ensure all customer and corporate goals are achieved within budget.
Maintains expected margin levels per project
Builds and maintains a solid working relationship with the Sales organization to improve Customer Retention and Satisfaction.
Positively/effectively promotes company goals in coordination with National Accounts Sales objectives and Business Operations objectives.
Works with both HR and corporate teams to ensure fair treatment and open communications to enhance management-employee relations/labor relations, promote training and development, improve quality of products installed, and work towards improved team member retention and satisfaction
Works with corporate, business operations and field management teams to ensure fair treatment and open communications to enhance customer service and satisfaction
Works with Tyco Safety Products and other outside vendors and manufacturers to ensure product quality and product training
Works with JCI Safety Team to ensure all Regional team members follow Health and Safety requirements
Contributes to project scope development and installation designs for assigned projects
Prepares site-by-site installation schedule with the Installation Specialist and Field Project Managers
Coordinates all subcontractor labor resources with the assigned span of control
On-boards, develops, trains, and mentors outside subcontractor resources
Works with Project teams to define cost saving options, implementation enhancements, and risks
Identifies training opportunities for knowledge and skills development that support team members’ performance expectations
Enforces Implement Solution Installation Project standards to enable professional capability growth in planning, designing, installation, and transitioning to service in a responsive and cost-effective manner
Collects and assembles installation progress/status from various implementation teams quickly and accurately for the Regional Director and Field Project Team
Ensures that all tasks are completed per the SOW while ensuring high quality standards
Provides performance updates to the Regional Director and Field Leadership
Perform other duties as assigned
Process

What we look for
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology, Network Engineering, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Military training/experience or other related field
Seven to ten years field, construction, and progressive management experience with a high volume, high impact operation
Experience successfully handling multiple challenges, prioritizing responsibilities, and effectively leading multiple teams
As required – Prov/State or individual State license
Team building, including creating strong morale and spirit, celebrating wins and successes, fostering open dialogue, encouraging people to be responsible for their work, clearly defining success, and fostering a team spirit
Advanced leadership skills, including influence management, team-building, conflict resolution, negotiation, organizational change management, and emotional intelligence
Ability to manage and direct multiple complex projects simultaneously to drive solutions that meet or surpass customer expectations on-time and within budget
Analytics and problem-solving
Ability to communicate effectively with varying audience groups and levels
Advanced computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Smart Sheet, etc.
Strong understanding of construction and various trade costing models, NEC, and OSHA
Strategic agility: anticipating future consequences and trends accurately
