About the Role

The Principal SW Engineer will be part of the Intelligent Audio Team in Harman Research. is expected to be innovative, and results driven. You will leverage your background in machine learning, optimization techniques, and past exposure to the audio industry to create experiences that delight and surprise our customers. You will use your imagination and vision to see what hasn’t been done before to create better and new experiences. You must have strong analytic and design skills. You will work within a broader team of researchers and SW developers will drive projects from early prototyping to productization. We expect you work independently. Experience in audio system design, audio algorithms, and novel testing methodology is mandatory to succeed in this role.

What You Will Do

• Integrate Audio DSP algorithms in Embedded Audio platforms like Android or Tizen.
• Create Linux-based audio applications on embedded devices
• Prototype audio systems and prepare technology demonstrators.
• Qualify the performance of audio algorithms using testing frameworks.
• Write reports, white papers, and patents.
• Transfer new technologies to commercialization teams.

What You Need to Be Successful

• Minimum of B.Sc. degree in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, acoustics, etc. and 6 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with development of SW on Embedded platforms
• Software development experience using C/C++
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration systems and Agile SW development (GIT)
• Fluency in developing multi-threaded and interrupt driven programs for real-time applications
• Experience with SDKs for audio development.

Bonus Points if You Have

• Experience implementing and testing algorithms derived from research papers
• Experience with DSP algorithms prototyping in MATLAB
• Experience with Linux/Tizen OS development
• Experience with acoustic systems measurements
• Practical experience with Embedded systems prototyping and debugging
