Principal SAP Architect, Finance Data

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will help digitally transform Amgen's Finance capabilities via implementation of SAP S/4HANA. As a technology professional within our global Digital, Technology, and Innovation (DTI) team, this role will help guide the transition from our worldwide ERP instance on SAP ECC to the S/4HANA Intelligent Enterprise. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead data architect overseeing design and implementation of financial data models across Record to Report, Source to Pay, Order to Cash, and Plan to Stock workstreams as part of global S/4HANA implementation
  • Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture frameworks that align with Amgen's strategic goals
  • Drive initiatives to empower users by enabling self-service analytics and reporting, increasing S/4HANA’s capabilities alongside other analytical tools/platforms
  • Collaborate with product analyst, data engineers, and business partners to translate business needs into user stories, architectural designs, and mock-ups for data solutions
  • Devise strategies to improve data quality and drive leading practice controls

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of relevant experience in managing Finance Data Model OR

Master’s degree and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in managing Finance Data Model OR

Bachelor’s degree and 10 to 14 years relevant experience in managing Finance Data Model OR

Diploma and 14 to 18 years of relevant experience in managing Finance Data Model

Preferred Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills :

  • Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA data model, SAP Analytics Cloud, Data sphere and SAP AI Business Services
  • Experience managing data across key financial business processes as well as cross functional workstream such as Record to Report, Financial Planning & Analysis, Source to Pay, Order to Cash, and Plan to Stock
  • Proven experience designing and implementing financial data architecture to support analytics and integrations
  • Experience managing the architectural design of financial data models using published APIs and cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, S3, Redshift, Airflow or Databricks

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience working in an agile operating model
  • Experience building and continuously monitoring & improving system to system integrations for financial data
  • Programming skills in Python and SQL in an AWS environment

Professional Certifications:

  • SAP S/4HANA (preferred)

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully.
  • Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals
