Position Summary:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for localization of treatment areas and administration of radiation treatments to patients under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited Radiation Therapy school
- Montana Licensure (Radiation Therapist)
- American Heart Association BLS
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role and knowledge of electronic health record operating systems.
Essential Job Functions:
- Administers radiation therapy
- Ensures all documents required for treatment are completed.
- Performs simulations and simulation radiography (i.e. CT, MRI, and PET) to localize treatment area while confirming treatment plan with the Radiation Oncologist.
- Educates patient regarding procedure on first day of treatment.
- Observes all safety regulations concerning ionizing radiation both for self and patients and reporting any incidence outside of normal operating parameters to the Medical Physicist.
- Attends weekly chart rounds and monthly department meetings.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment within the work setting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
