Position Summary
The Manager, HR Technology Operations, is responsible for the global administration of our core HR system of record, Workday and leading the establishment and adherence of global procedures and best practices. Key areas of technology responsibility include HR data management, system configuration and testing, and cloud-based integration development and maintenance. This individual will be responsible for understanding the business strategy and facilitating the systems related planning, prioritization and implementation for CDK HR. This individual will lead a team of HR Technology and HR Operations specialists in support of these objectives.
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
System Implementation & Configuration:
- Lead the implementation of new Workday modules and functionality
- Configure and customize Workday applications to align with business processes and requirements
- Manage data migration and integration processes between Workday and other systems
Project Management:
- Oversee Workday-related projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables
- Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and other departments
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Workday
- Stay current with Workday updates, new features, and industry best practices
System Maintenance & Optimization:
- Monitor Workday system performance and ensure its stability and reliability
- Conduct regular system audits and performance reviews
- Implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements as needed
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, business units, and Workday vendors
- Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders
- Gather and analyze business requirements to recommend system improvements
Training & Documentation:
- Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and technical staff
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting
Recruitment & Staffing:
- Hiring: Participate in recruiting and hiring processes to build a strong, skilled team. This includes defining job requirements, interviewing candidates, and making hiring decisions.
- Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new team members to ensure they integrate smoothly into the team and understand their roles and responsibilities
Performance Management:
- Goal Setting: Work with team members to set individual performance goals aligned with team and organizational objectives
- Evaluations: Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement
- Recognition: Recognize and reward high performance to maintain morale and motivation
Workload Management:
- Resource Allocation: Allocate tasks and responsibilities effectively, balancing workloads to avoid overburdening any individual and ensuring optimal productivity
- Prioritization: Help team members prioritize tasks and manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and achieve goals
Team Building:
- Cohesion: Promote teamwork and collaboration by organizing team-building activities and fostering a sense of camaraderie
- Diversity: Encourage diversity and inclusion within the team, respecting different perspectives and backgrounds
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- 5-7 years of experience in Workday administration or technical roles, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial capacity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the company; ability to manage by influence
- Solid organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Experience with the complexity of global projects
- Successful track record of strong project management across a series of competing priorities
- Flexibility to adapt work style to be successful with colleagues across time zones, geographies and cultures
- Ability to manage change across a broad and diverse population through strong stakeholder relationship management
- Ability to work both independently and to provide guidance and support to direct and indirect report team members
- Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical users and facilitate effective outcomes
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio
