The Compensation & Benefits team is an exciting and challenging group supporting the Controllership, Business and Finance Leaders, Human Resources and Financial Planning & Analysis teams.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

State Street Corporation’s Corporate Finance division is currently seeking an Assistant Vice President, in Compensation and Benefits Analysis process in Finance Controllership.

The successful candidate must be a strong, decisive, results-oriented person who can help in developing and managing relationships across State Street and with a wide variety of associates, based on trust, teamwork and knowledge.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.  Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Calculation of Structured Incentive Plan (SIP) payments for eligible employees across the company; review calculations and results to ensure they are in compliance with the incentive plans and track exceptions to standard policies, partake in the payment notification and reporting process, and the preparation of accounting entries, trend reports and other financial analysis.
  • Maintain SIP excel files that will provide; estimates and accruals for the accounting process, forecasts and budgets for Financial Planning and Analysis teams and trending analysis to Finance, Business and Human Resource leaders.
  • Drive process simplification, systematic automation and a strong control environment.
  • Ensure benefits plans are up-to-date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations
  • Serve as data provider for SEC Reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submission of benefits-related data.
  • Contribute to the Expatriate accounting and analysis function for the global benefits and expenses, including payroll taxes.
  • Provide support for mobility programs including assignments and taxation.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, accounting policies and certifications policies
  • Other tasks and projects, as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven track record of advancement, managerial and business success, with a minimum of 10+ years of overall experience, preferably at a large financial services company, including a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Compensation and Benefits role
  • Subject matter expertise in accounting and finance with strong technical knowledge of financial services industry accounting and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity
  • Complex problem resolution and general management expertise
