Job Summary:


The Senior Clinical Informaticist participates in organizational committees as an expert informatics resource, providing advice and perspective on the design and development of information systems to ensure the implementation of electronic records that support and enhance patient care and support of the organization's operating plan and strategic priorities. This position will also develop and promote the overall clinical adoption strategy with Health System Leadership.


Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Maintains, stores, maps and analyzes data in compliance with policies and procedures. Prepares and validates routine and special information and reports.
Promotes the use of evidence-based clinical practice by participating in hospital clinical standardization councils. Participates in an on-call rotation and provides elbow support to providers and clinicians.
Participates and provides clinical input during the application system review, design, development, testing, validation and implementation to support enhancement of information systems. Researches, analyzes and makes recommendations for application workflow improvements.
Establishes trusted relationships with department leaders inside the client organization. Collaborates across teams to plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of systems and services. Provides education materials, at the elbow support, and classroom training of EHR functionality and clinical workflows to support educational needs and adoption.
Provides input to revise informatics policies and procedures based on system design, workflow reengineering and input from end-users.
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Education:

  • or Masters Nursing


Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):


All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Additional License(s) and Certification(s):


    Clinical Certification in speciality area, and/or Informatics upon hire Upon Hire Required
    Nursing, Respiratory Theray, Laboratory Tech state approved license Upon Hire Preferred


    Required Minimum Experience:


    Master's degree in informatics or clinical specialty accepted (if no MSN) Required and
    Minimum 5 years Clinical Informatics or Application Support Required or
    Minimum 6 years Clinical Informatics or application support Preferred and


    Required Minimum Skills:


    Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint High
