As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for coordinating changes and acting as a focal point between the Avionics Harnessing team and the other avionics and rocket systems and subsystems teams for various spaceflight systems. This is a hands-on position that will involve you in all aspects of engineering, design, fabrication, installation and test. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate communication and create change requests between the Avionics Harnessing team and the other Avionics and rocket systems and subsystems teams.

  • Support and coordinate feedback received from the harness manufacturing suppliers/sites

  • Support and coordinate feedback received from the harness installation site

  • Support and coordinate any required harness testing.

  • Manage harness configuration and coordinate with harness suppliers (internal and external) in order to ensure the correct configurations are built.

  • Manage harness configuration and coordinate with the installation site in order to ensure the correct configurations are installed.

  • Support Non-Conformances resolution and incorporation.

  • Support change incorporation issues by providing impact assessments.

  • Support design configuration development and trade studies

  • Maintain and report on activity schedule and technical status.

  • Identify opportunities for improvements and operational cost and schedule savings

Required Qualifications :

  • B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field

  • 10+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry

  • 5+ Experience as a liaison engineering

  • Experience with high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical and Mechanical Routing

  • Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes.

  • Familiar with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4

  • Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Experience with Pro/E Piping.

  • Experience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD)

  • Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems.


 

Compensation Range for:

CO applicants is $125,400.00-$175,560.00;WA applicants is $136,800.00-$191,520.00

Other site ranges may differ
