Working within Merchandising Capabilities, your mission will be to help build and sustain an industry-leading portfolio of global capabilities that drive financial growth, enable efficiency, and unlock joy for each Guest.  Our teams and products are aligned to key enterprise functions to accelerate and support Target’s strategy through connected processes, innovative technology, and a best-in-class team.  

Primary function:

  • Responsible for driving enhancements and insight generation by identifying areas of improvement in products through exploratory data analysis

  • Monitoring and tracking products and collaborating with Product Managers to identify and fix product issues.

  • In addition, role requires working with product/business partners to enhance product processes and permeate a culture of inclusivity and connection across our global team. 

 

Principal Duties & responsibilities:

  • Build critical reports specific to existing data to monitor critical product metrics.

  • Perform data analysis to identify new opportunities to improve overall metrics.

  • Owning and driving the complicated problems, breaking them down into smaller tasks and leading acting as a team lead and mentoring team members from technical standpoint.

  • Collaborating with Data Engineering and data science teams on setting up new process/jobs, owning and maintaining the datasets & dashboards.

  • Support in creating forecasts, designing product strategies and leverage technology to ensure our products are efficient.

  • Partner with cross functional teams such as Merchandising Capabilities Product teams, Cross Functional Product Ops teams, Business and Tech teams to execute key production levers and supporting Merchandising Pyramid. Support Sr Product Analyst for creating and leveraging projected future product movement plans/roadmaps that helps on understanding how a change to key inputs like planning, negotiation and pricing & promo

  • Responsible to build and monitor the Product Health metrics that Product managers will use to tract the product performance. Test, monitor, measure new features on production to ensure new features are working as expected.

  • Should be comfortable with ambiguity and utilize a test and learn mindset with other core Merch teams to inform and develop our broader positioning roadmap.

  • Analyse underlying trends to identify potential product issues and improvements to the existing product features.

  • Partners with the global prod ops team to advocate and implement best methods; processes, routines, tools.

 
Minimum requirements:

  • Four-year degree with 1-4 years’ experience in Product Analytics or Business analytics.

  • Ability to create/change/execute SQL queries from analytic datasets and analyse results

  • Experience and passion for using data to explain or solve complex business problems and influence invention of new systematic and operational processes

  • Create dashboards leveraging in-house data visualisation tool


Desired requirements:

  • Python and SQL and familiarity with any product analytics tool like Mixpanel, Amplitute or Pendo etc.

  • Experience in Retail (stores or headquarters) or CPG domain

  • Experience as a product analyst in enterprise applications

  • Reporting and Dashboarding in Domo
