The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on an 18-month contract at the Singapore Centre for Character and Citizenship Education.
Project Title: Investigating Socio-ecological enablers of student flourisHIng through chaRacter strEngths (iSPHIRE)
Project Introduction: As emerging technologies reshape social and educational landscapes, adolescents face new challenges in balancing academic knowledge, technical competencies, and character development. These combined competencies are critical in empowering youth to navigate their social worlds, supporting both meaningful educational pursuits and their growth as ethical, responsible citizens. This project investigates how students are inspired and motivated to cultivate purposeful inner strengths within their unique socio-ecological contexts.
We are looking for a motivated researcher to join our team in exploring adolescent character development and identifying pathways to support student flourishing. Successful applicants will have unique opportunities to learn about contemporary frameworks and strengthen their skills in empirical research design and analysis.
