Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking an effective Senior Program/Project Manager with demonstrated project management and leadership experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Leads and directs larger, more complex program(s) in support of program and overall strategy. Provides direction to project staff assigned to projects and stages within program. Establishes governance and drives all aspects to ensure that assigned program(s) is implemented, accepted, and operating effectively. Translates corporate objectives into program objectives and practices.

Serves as a liaison and builds bridges and relationships with sponsoring executives and among different groups within and outside of technology and operations. Works directly with the business line to understand business objectives and strategies related to project priorities. Consolidates projects under program-level umbrella to provide focal point for communications. Manages communications regarding project and program management practices that create clear, concise requirements in program and project functionality, resourcing, budgets, and timings. Oversees assigned projects from initial concept through final implementation utilizing approved project methodology/tools and within enterprise standards and guidelines. Organizes and manages a high-quality, cross-functional program team by providing work direction and coaching/mentoring to assigned project managers and coordinators. Constructs a program reporting and tracking framework and benchmarks.

Provides oversight to projects to meet established function, quality, cost, and schedule. Escalates issues and risks to appropriate level. May manage a staff of up to 100 employees including recommendations for hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards, and reviews. Plans, develops, and controls moderate to large project/product budgets. Leads selection and adoption of specific tools to facilitate compliance with established methodologies.

This aligns to the Branch and Small Business Banking priority to modernize by specifically “leveraging innovative digital tools and resources.”

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project execution against the priorities set by the Technology and Operations teams.

  • Represent the Branch and Small Business organization as an interface with Technology and Operations team projects.

  • Partner on technology and operations projects by providing recommendations to streamline the workflow needs of customer-facing roles and customizable building blocks that are user centric.

  • Provide feedback for user-centric enablement, workflow design and documentation, and vendor management to prioritize software enhancements.

  • Represent the Branch and Small Business organization with Corporate Digital Office and influence decisions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • At least 10 years experience with tools and techniques for planning, organizing, monitoring and controlling IT projects.

  • Ability to influence the execution of specialized projects and to adapt precedent and make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop innovative solutions.

  • Digital development or design experience with product/project management desired

  • Experience launching digital capabilities to customers and frontline colleagues

  • Experience managing user experiences within branch banking platforms

  • Agile experience a plus!

This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside of the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $116,280.00 - $136,800.00 - $150,480.00
