This role supports Cencora’s wholesale distribution services in Europe, operating through our Alliance Healthcare business.
The Central Logistics Centre (CLC) is Alliance Healthcare UK’s new, next-generation logistics facility based in Birmingham. Designed with advanced automation and cutting-edge robotics, the CLC is a world-class, game-changing addition to the Alliance Healthcare estate. It’s set to redefine how we manage and deliver medical, health and beauty products to our customers across the UK.
As an Operations Team Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day running of our warehouse operation, ensuring inbound, picking and outbound activities are delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently. You’ll work within a shift-based, automated environment, driving performance against service, quality and productivity measures while developing a highly engaged, multi-skilled team.
Lead daily inbound, picking and outbound warehouse operations to ensure smooth, efficient processing across the shift.
Promote and enforce a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring safe, legal and compliant working practices at all times.
Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through robust controls and accurate goods handling.
Manage and develop team performance through coaching, feedback, performance reviews and ongoing training.
Support onboarding and multi-skilling of team members to meet operational demands and improve flexibility.
Monitor KPIs (e.g., LPH, missing parcels, on-time in-full, cost/service measures), identifying trends and driving improvement actions.
Resolve operational issues quickly, working cross-functionally with logistics, inventory and wider site teams.
Ensure pharmaceutical products are handled and stored correctly in line with SOPs, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Support inventory management activities, helping reduce damages, shortages and pick errors within agreed levels.
Support shift planning and resourcing to maintain service and productivity, contributing to budget control and cost-saving initiatives.

Skills and Knowledge Required
Proven people leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment (pharmaceutical preferred).
Strong working knowledge of WMS and exposure to automation/warehouse technologies.
Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills across multiple departments.
Ability to problem-solve under pressure, multi-task and take ownership of operational outcomes.
Understanding of compliance, quality standards and regulatory expectations in controlled distribution environments.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (M365) and confidence working with performance data/KPI reporting.
