As the largest national accounting firm focused on serving the middle market, RSM US LLP has an opening for a Supervisor within our Consulting Quality & Risk Management (CQRM) Team. Location preference is in Chicago, IL. Part of RSM's Office of Risk Management, our CQRM Team consists of over twenty experienced professionals with a wide range of business and legal experience supporting the  rapidly growing consulting, audit, and tax practices. The successful applicant’s primary responsibilities will include the following functions:

  • Review of professional services engagement agreements, subcontractor agreements, non-disclosure and business associate agreements, data privacy agreements, information security agreements, reseller and referral agreements, and other related contracts and legal documents
  • Review of commercial and public sector requests for proposals (RFPs) and development of exceptions documents in support of engagement pursuits
  • Preparation of risk management plans and issues memos to identify and mitigate enhanced risks to the firm presented by the terms and conditions of the engagement agreement or RFP
  • Consult with client service team personnel in evaluating and responding to risk matters affecting client engagements and/or the services provided to the client
  • Preparation, development, and/or updates to contract templates, contracting playbooks, knowledge management articles, practice manuals and policies, and training material
  • Manage, train and cross-train lesser experienced and/or more junior level members of the CQRM Team, and assist with onboarding and supporting new members of the CRQM Team.

Preference will be given to internal candidates with the requisite skills and demonstrated ability to grow 

Preferred Qualifications consist of:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice law preferably in a US jurisdiction
  • 3 plus years of legal experience in private law firm, government agency, or in-house, and preferably in litigation or commercial contracting
  • 1-2 years of experience in negotiating commercial contracting and demonstrated editorial, contract analysis skills
  • 1-2 years of experience with review, application or implementation of data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA), and/or information security standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, FedRamp, PCI)
  • Strong research, writing, analytical, and communications skills
  • Ability to review and apply legal standards, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Ability to understand and ensure compliance with firm, lines of business, and departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to identify gaps in or revisions to existing operational policies and practices
  • Ability to apply sound professional judgement and skepticism and maintain objectivity in responding to significant risk events
  • Ability to adapt to change and reprioritize based on urgency, risk rating, and/or significance of matter
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with respect to internal information
  • Strong oral communication skills and client facing experience
  • CPA, MBA, LLM or other relevant certification in consulting, accounting, tax, or legal profession
  • Prior experience working in an accounting or consulting firm, a business risk management or advisory role, or a government or commercial sector legal or procurement office or department

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $86,500 - $163,900

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
