The Family Care Unit is an exciting and unique nursing unit that provides care for women and newborns. Located in the UMC East Tower, the Family Care Unit consists of 44 large, private suites and a Newborn Procedure Area. The Family Care Unit (FCU) staff provide mother-baby care for new moms and babies (referred to as a couplet), as well as nursing care for other types of female patients. Additional patient populations served on the FCU consist of stable antepartum (pregnant), gynecology, Gyn-oncology and medical-surgical patients.

NAs are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a nurse. The duties generally include observing patients, recording vital signs, performing EKGs, and reporting changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications:
-Applicant has completed Nurse Aide course and presents Nurse Aide Certification
-PCT certification also acceptable
-Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
-CNA/PCT Experience Preferred
