Position Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is a key role within the Particle Processing Team (PPT).  The role will be primarily challenged with developing sales growth in North America.  The role will involve supporting existing customers with new equipment applications and developing new opportunities. Our core markets include numerous industries with powder handling & material handling applications. This position will report to the Material Processing Technologies business unit (IDEX MPT).

The Regional Sales Manager will be required to travel regularly within the region, as well as occasional international travel to support other business activities (training, exhibitions, customer visits etc).

Essential Functions

  • Represent: Fitzpatrick and Quadro products in North America as requested
  • Business Development: Take the lead in developing a healthy funnel within the territory. Be personally responsible for prospecting and nurturing future business.
  • Develop and Win New Sales Opportunities: With guidance from the Director of New Machine Sales - PPT, develop new sales opportunities within the territory.  This includes: electronic outreach, contact via telephone, and networking (in-person & electronic). The overriding goal will be attainment of regional sales targets and group Annual Operating Plans (AOP).

Sales Activities Include:

  • Working with customers to review and define User Requirement Specifications
  • Responding directly to customer inquiries and qualifying new leads
  • Helping to nurture opportunities and lead consultative selling activities
  • Following-up on proposals, negotiating and winning orders
  • Channel Partner Management: Manage existing channel partners and appoint new representatives where appropriate across the territory.  Work with channel partners to effectively develop opportunities and future business.
  • Existing Customer Support: Provide regular contact with existing customers.  Help support service and after-sales activities.
  • Marketing: Work collaboratively with the marketing team on the input and execution of marketing plans.  This may include: developing content, providing feedback on campaigns, facilitating seminars & trade shows, etc.
  • Reporting & Information Systems:  Ensure the group’s CRM database (Dynamics 365) is actively managed – especially in relation to customer visits, quoting, forecasting and similar information.  Use database information to help analyse territory trends, representative effectiveness, areas of focus, etc.
  • Other Tasks: Working with the Director, provide input to Strategic Planning as it relates to Sales and Business Development activities. Other duties as requested.
  • This is a full-time hybrid role, based out of Waterloo, Ontario. Office attendance is required as requested.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of five years of experience selling capital equipment
  • Experience managing commissioned sales representatives and distributors
  • Demonstration of negotiation and sales with senior customer leadership
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and capability to travel worldwide
  • An aptitude for technical consultation and product configuration is a must
  • Post-secondary technical training would be an asset (degree or diploma in an engineering discipline preferred)
  • Spanish fluency is considered an asset
