OVERVIEW:

Job Responsibilities:

Incident Management

  • Provide basic level 2 technical support for incidents escalated by TechOps.

  • Basic understanding of incident management practices including detection, response, communication, resolution, and post-mortem analysis.

  • Document incident details, including triage findings, business impact, and service restoration steps within the incident record.

  • Collaborates with team to resolve common application, infrastructure, security, or performance issues.

  • Adhere to any defined service level agreements, indicators, or objectives to maximize service availability.

Software Engineering

  • Responsible for deployment of minor software patches, application bug fixes, and enhancements.

  • Basic understanding of coding languages such as Ruby or Python.

  • Basic understanding and experience deploying CI/CD pipeline tools such as Git, Jira, Gitlab, or Jenkins.

  • Assist in the management and deployment of applications on cloud platforms like Azure or Google Cloud.

  • Adhere to best practices for cloud security, cost management, and performance optimization.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of SQL and database management.

  • Exercise a familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Automation, Integration, and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify automation opportunities as part of the continuous improvement process.

  • Use tools like Puppet or Ansible to manage integrations and streamline workloads to reduce manual effort.

  • Write scripts using languages like Python, Bash, or Powershell to automate repetitive tasks.

  • Translate loosely defined requirements into technical and functional solutions.

  • Identify cost reduction and efficiencies through incident mitigation and performance engineering.

Observability

  • Setup, configure, and maintain system alerts using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Instana. 

  • Implement logging solutions using ELK stack or similar tools to ensure proper logging management.

  • Utilize monitoring tools and metrics to collect and analyze application health to detect issues that could impact performance.

  • Partner with L1 operational teams to identify erroneous, ambiguous, or false-positive alerts and implement corrective actions.

Performance & Change Management

  • Assist with routine maintenance activities.

  • Identify and address system performance issues by troubleshooting problems and adjusting existing hardware or software configurations.

  • Use version control systems like Git to manage code changes and collaborate with other team members.

  • Ensure that all infrastructure and configuration changes are tracked and versioned.

Ongoing Learning & Development

  • Identify and assist with training and development of L1 and L2 teammates.

  • Create detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures for system troubleshooting and resolution.

  • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions for the benefit of L1 teammates.

Metrics & Reporting

  • Understand existing dashboard, metrics, and reporting. Analyze data to improve service.

  • Perform trend analysis to identify patterns and predict potential issues.

  • Understand and assist with creation of reports (daily, weekly, monthly) on system performance, uptime, and incidents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate Degree or Higher

  • Technical School diploma/Certification

  • 1-2 years of experience working in technical support

Targeted Pay Range: $54,600.00 - $90,900.00. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
