P&G Professional is a leading manufacturer and marketer of Superior Cleaning products designed for business that prioritize a clean and safe working environment and delighting their patrons The P&G Professional Senior Account Executive Health Care Role develops our business with Non Acute Healthcare Chains and will develop Joint Business plans with  Strategic Healthcare  Group Purchasing Organization (GPO’s). Given the strong ties between Chain and GPO’s having responsibilities for both channels of trade will be synergistic and enable the impact of this role.

With Health Care Chains the role is responsible for selling our total food service solution, our housekeeping and On Premise laundry program to multi-unit regional or national Non Acute Health Care Chain that feature Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Care and or Continuing Care Communities  They have a keen understanding of the tensions these operators face and develop proposals that solve problems via Superior Product performance and have a compelling value equation for the chain prompting them to convert to the P&G Program and commit to a multi-year agreement. The role will be focused on 100% new business acquisition and when a chain is sold they will oversee the conversion to P&G.

With the GPO’s they will lead joint business planning with top executives that grows both the Contract business (which Includes Equipment and Service Programs) and the entire P&G Portfolio where individual communities that are members of the GPO can select individual P&G Brands on a job-by-job basis with no formal program in place between P&G and the Community.  

P&G Professional Sr. Account Executives are a part of a multi-functional Customer Team which includes experts in Finance, Logistics, R&D, Technical Service Marketing, and Information Systems to provide the resources needed to develop a robust value proposition for the end user.

We are looking for individuals who are leaders and have a strong track record of results either working for/with GPO’s and a passion for the Senior Living Segment of business.  We are seeking candidates who are analytical thinkers and problem solvers, as well as excellent communicators. We are looking for someone who can set clear priorities and follow through on commitments, as well as demonstrate creativity, innovation, and initiative.   Previous experience with Distributors either in the Foodservice, Med-Surge or Jan Channels is a plus, but not required.

Our selling begins with developing a concept - a new way of looking at events or business - then pulling together the information to explain the concept and finally persuading our account to accept the recommendation for one or more specific courses of action.  Senior Account Executives are expected to collaborate with a Sales Team and to be knowledgeable in advertising, promotions, finance, and merchandising, joint business planning, as well as develop expertise in areas such as product knowledge and technical support.

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with GPO’s either for a GPO directly, or for a large manufacturer (food or non food) or for a B2B Distributor.  Demonstrate experience in developing and executing winning plans that build share with the end users leveraging the GPO Platform, Distributors and P&G’s Direct Sales Organization

  • Experience Selling to Non Acute Health Care Communities and having a track record of success.

  • Experience in collaborating with Multifunctional partners and across the Sales Organization (peers) to execute with excellence.

  • Prior responsibility of managing both Top and Bottom-Line results so that the business earned is in line with target margins and is a long-term sustainable value driver for P&G and our partners (distributors and end users).

  • Strong understanding of Professional Distribution Channels (Foodservice/ Jan San, Medical)

  • Driver's License

The ideal candidate will have the following Skills/attribute.

  • Selling Premium product based on the value they can generate for the customer (ie sell Total Operating Value by uncovering real needs and concerns that maximizes business value.

  • Willingness to travel to Chain Headquarters as selling our propositions require multiple stakeholders to buy in and see the value.

  • Be willing to travel up to 40% of the time. More will be disclosed in the interview process.

  • Best Locations include Chicago, Cincinnati, or Atlanta.

  • Advanced Negotiation Capability -able to lead productive dialogue during conflicts.

  • Growth mindset Leads Multifunctional and Sales Team to challenge current thinking and raise the bar.

  • Joint Business planning- engage Senior Customer leaders to create Top to Top plans based on what the customer AND P&G values most.

  • Executive Influence- drives high level penetration across the customers organization.

  • Possesses a holistic view of the business and proactively considers the impact of all decisions on the top and bottom line.
