Radnor, PA (Airgas HO) - ManagementProvide corporate transportation regulatory expertise and guidance to the business.
Review all Federal, State and local violations and citations issued related to transportation of hazardous materials and fleet safety and provide business guidance and support corrective actions for improvement where needed.
Monitor the daily publication of Federal Register for issues that impact on Airgas business units regarding all Department of Transportation regulations for all modes of transportation.
Maintain and update all transportation policies and programs that supports external regulatory or internal company policy changes
Maintain and distribute transportation safety advisories or SAFECOR bulletins generated as a result of changes in regulatory requirements, safety/regulatory compliance issues, etc.
Participate in industry transportation groups, such as the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) and American Trucking Associations (ATA). Interact with Department of Transportation personnel, such as PHMSA and FMCSA, etc.
Provide guidance in the form of regulatory interpretations and updates to the HR and Legal departments, with regards all US Department of Transportation matters including PHMSA and FMCSA.
Point of contact for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as it relates to US DOT hazardous materials security requirements and Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS)
Provides guidance and direction on Airgas company policy and regulatory requirements to maintain a compliant drug & alcohol testing program for all drivers and safety sensitive positions within Airgas. This includes full knowledge and understanding of the Clearinghouse.
Provide guidance and direction to the driver qualification file process and system in accordance with Airgas company policy and FMCSA regulations.
Perform other duties as directed by the Director of SAFECOR
A bachelor degree in a transportation, logistics or safety & health or environmental science field or equivalent education and experience
10 years experience in a fleet safety or safety and health function.
The candidate must have good writing and oral communication skills.
Must be able to function as both a strong team player and as an independent consultant, as necessary, to help Airgas companies maintain a strong safety compliance profile.
Hands-on engagement/experience with all aspects of Title 49 CFR for all modes of transportation and corresponding federal regulations
Experience building departmental and/or cross-functional transportation compliance governance infrastructure;
Experience managing multiple projects/processes;
Strong written and verbal communications skills;
Excellent leadership and management skills managing employees (either direct or indirect).
Required Education:
A bachelor degree in a transportation, logistics or safety & health or environmental science field or equivalent education and experience
Transportation related certifications or training in Title 49 CFR (preferred).
