Job Description Summary:

This is a part-time casual (as needed) position at McConnell Heart Health Center. Candidate must meet all minimum qualifications.


JOB SUMMARY 

This position is responsible for exercise advice and personalized training for clients on a one-on-one or small group basis. The staff is responsible for developing a fitness program to meet the specific needs of the client and for ensuring that equipment is used appropriately and for the desired purpose.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum 1 year work experience (not including internship)
- Familiar with concepts, practices, and procedures within personal training
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Physical Fitness/Training related certifications required – at least one of the
following: ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA
- BLS, CPR certification
- Excellent communication, time management, organizational and follow-up
skills


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

- AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association) certification 
- Aquatic Exercise Instructor and an American Red Cross WSI (Water Safety -
Instructor) or an equivalent (extensive aquatic background)
- American Red Cross, Lifeguard Training


DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

- Associates degree or higher in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise
Physiology, or related field preferred
- Experience working with special populations (clinical and non-clinical)

Responsibilities And Duties:

50% Customer Satisfaction
Motivates and inspires clients to get results by setting goals, creating customized workout plans and tracking progress.
Guides and educates clients on comprehensive fitness programs.

40% Quality Service
Collaborates with fitness team Exercise Physiologists in development and implementation of member clinics and workshops.
Advises clients on important safety concerns and demonstrates exercises or maneuvers as needed.

10% Professional Development
Participates in weekly team meetings with fitness team and/or aquatics team.
Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification(s).

Minimum Qualifications:

High School or GED (Required)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
