As a part of a small, cross-functional team, you’ll help define the scope and manage work for the Command, Control, and Communications (C3) team for New Glenn as its C3 Technical Project Manager.  You’ll share in the team’s impact on all aspects of New Glenn Operations by ensuring ground electrical, vehicle Transporter Erector (TE), and launch support systems are ready for integrated operations and safe spaceflight. This is a hands-on position focused on scoping, scheduling, tracking, and reporting the design, development, qualification, and activation of C3 systems for New Glenn in FL. In this role, you’ll also identify and communicate risks and opportunities to project/mission schedules to ensure efficient implementation of new equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure, deploy, support and maintain mission critical IT hardware, including workstations, servers, hypervisors, switches, printers and other launch command/control assets.
  • Build robust, fault tolerant on-prem infrastructure to support unique customer requirements for data systems control and monitoring. 
  • Identify sources of system degradation and mitigate, or provide detailed relevant data such as pcaps, quantitative data, and logs to network engineers for further triage.
  • Generate and modify user accounts through standardized identity management tools (Active Directory),
  • Assist in configuration management efforts by generating detailed work instructions and other industry standard workflows for software and systems level configuration control.
  • Create software and hardware deployment baselines built in accordance with established STIGs.
  • Generate and update engineering drawings of system deployments
  • Inventory management, including maintaining internal asset tracking tools, spares procurement, physical restocking, and deployment.
  • Practical knowledge and experience with standard network protocols (ie DHCP, DNS, NPS, SQL, SMTP, NFS, etc)
  • Prior experience managing web servers, including basic proficiency with HTML, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Prior experience utilizing Atlassian Confluence and JIRA both user and admin
  • Experience writing automation scripts in Powershell and Bash
  • Experience with industrial controls software, hardware and protocols.
  • Knowledge and experience with PKI, STIGS, disk encryption and firewall administration.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Netbox, Puppet, Chef, GitLab, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of applicable experience
  • Support occasional overtime and overnight operations to support test and launch campaigns.
  • Travel as needed to support deployed ground systems infrastructure across the country.
  • Experience writing technical documentation and procedures.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on elevated structures.
  • Ability to lift and install heavy server and communications equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. 

Desired:

  • Experience coordinating the development of PLC-based systems, fielding/testing them in an operational environment, and managing multiple subcontractors in the process
  • Experience with launch vehicle, aircraft, or spacecraft manufacturing, integration, and test
  • Experience interfacing electrical/avionics equipment with flight network systems
  • Knowledge of systems engineering practices; manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of industrial system from Rockwell and Allan Bradley
  • Database administration experience.
