About the job:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts across LATAM markets, including real estate (lease) agreements and direct/indirect vendor agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout LATAM to ensure compliance with local regulatory processes and updates.
  • Provide legal guidance on people‑related matters across LATAM operations, including employment issues, local regulatory requirements, and potential labor risks.
  • Support local teams in responding to inquiries and proceedings from consumer protection authorities.
  • Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at mitigating legal risks, such as updates to terms and conditions, policies, labor contract templates, and internal labor regulations.
  • Identify and guide process improvements in partnership with our teams to ensure adherence to local legal requirements.
  • Be a primary legal contact for company partners, offering day‑to‑day support on labor matters, consumer issues, and contract drafting and negotiation.

About you:

  • Licensed attorney (with valid license to practice). LMM is a plus.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, with proven ability to draft, negotiate and communicate across the business in both languages (Portuguese is a plus)
  • Years and Type of Experience Required:
    • 5 years minimum of experience as a manager or Legal Leader in an in‑house role, overseeing business‑oriented legal matters. Experience managing contract negotiations, labor disputes and related guidance, consumer claims, and the provision of general legal support across multiple LATAM markets.
  • Knowledge:
    • Commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
    • Sound Legal performs an analysis of local complex regulation, identifying specific requirements and possible impacts to the business. This analysis aligns with internal departments to ensure compliance with regulations of different matters, including labor, contract negotiation, and consumer regulation.
    • Authority process knowledge regarding inspections, requests and claims pursued by local labor and consumer protection authorities.
  • Abilities:
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal business departments across multiple functions. Strong practical communication skills when working with internal non‑legal teams.
    • Proactive approach to addressing emerging issues from a legal perspective.
    • Conduct business‑oriented contract negotiations, assessing potential legal risks and identifying solutions that align with applicable regulations and internal compliance policies.
