As a Process Engineer you will be primarily responsible for starting up, developing and optimizing processes to improve product quality and reliability, working on process yield improvement, cost reduction, productivity improvement and risk management as well as resolving manufacturing line problems. You will also be required to identify, diagnose and resolve assembly process related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D or SPC/FDC methodology.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating and carrying out process, equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at process step, leading and participating in yield improvement and cost reduction activities, handling new process baseline qualifications and managing, auditing and liaising with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost and risk management objectives.

Daily responsibilities

  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve process-related problems by applying failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC/FDC methodology
  • Coordinate and carry out process, equipment, and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes at the process step
  • Lead and participate in yield improvement and cost optimization activities
  • Handle new process baseline qualifications and manage, audit, and collaborate with material suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and risk mitigation objectives
  • Supervise the health of assigned processes, ensuring high-quality output, and providing proactive redundancy plans for bottlenecks that could impact Fab cycle time (CT) or turns

Skills sought for this role

  • Strong process area knowledge in either Diffusion or LPCVD
  • Experience in DRAM manufacturing or development experience
  • Proven Automation skills through previous automation projects requiring coding/machine learning/JMP Scripting
  • Understanding of the process flow related to area equipment, SPC principles, and recipe management
  • Strong leadership skills with the shown ability to coordinate efforts across a variety of groups
  • Able to efficiently coordinate multifunctional teams to complete projects to solve an array of problems, coordinate meetings, and initiate follow-up actions
  • Communication skills and ability to present optimally to all audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve advanced problems, project management, resolve process issues, and develop procedures or action plans
  • Strong understanding of physics, area chemistry, and algebraic concepts as well as analytical problem-solving skills
  • Mature time management, organization, and prioritization skills

  • Analyzes data to make critical decisions and drive cost reduction activities
  • Provides troubleshooting support for complex process problems and address root causes
  • Resolves CT/capacity related issues in the area (tool and process redundancy, WIP sample plans, reduce raw process time, etc.)
  • Monitors equipment usage and production efficiency to ensure max output
  • Responds to chronic SPC performance issues by driving to fix root cause
  • Ensures the quality process of daily operations, communicate process holds, and formulate action plans
  • Maintains matching and drives for process consistency
  • Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve equipment issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution
  • Develops new or modified process formulations, defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products.
  • Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing. Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods.
  • Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
