A Research Associate position is currently available in the College of Business, Nanyang Business School to support research on key topics of artificial intelligence and its impact on the changing nature and future of work.
A suitable candidate for this position has knowledge and interest in research at the intersection of technology and social science (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Communications). The candidate may be a undergraduate or postgraduate with an interest in exploring a PhD as a career option in academia. The candidate must communicate well in person and in writing, should have a genuine interest in research and can work well with others as a team.
Responsibilities:
To assist Principal Investigator (PI) in designing and implementing research programme;
To assist PI in seeking and pursuing appropriate external grants;
To administer the grant and associated administrative tasks;
To assist and engage in the conduct of research studies;
To be a co-author on publications (where appropriate);
To perform other administrative duties as assigned by the PI
Working closely with the PI and the research team
Requirements:
Masters/Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Psychology, Sociology, Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Communications related fields;
Knowledge and interest in research at the intersection of technology and social science;
Excellent writing and communication skills;
Knowledge and experience in social science research methodologies;
Good statistical knowledge and skills, including familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, STATA, SAS, or SPSS);
Experience in using online search tools, especially online databases (e.g. EBSCOhost, Psycinfo, etc.) hosted by library systems;
Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint), data visualization software (e.g., Tableau), and preferably referencing tools (e.g. EndNote);
Detail-oriented, meticulous, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Able to perform research administrative duties
Has excellent interpersonal skills and can work cooperatively with both local and international collaborators in the research team;
Familiarity with designing and implementing surveys using graphical-user interfaced software (e.g., Qualtrics, QuestionPro) is an advantage.
