JOB PURPOSE

Transportation Insight is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting daily operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the efficient execution of logistics services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Order Processing:

  • Assist in the processing and management of customer orders.
  • Ensure accuracy in order entry and address any discrepancies.

Shipment Coordination:

  • Coordinate and track shipments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Communicate with carriers and internal teams to resolve any transportation issues.

Data Entry and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in logistics and transportation management systems.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of shipping and operational documents.

Customer Service:

  • Provide support to customer service teams in addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.

Problem Resolution:

  • Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues and challenges.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement corrective actions.

Reporting:

  • Generate and compile basic operational reports as required.
  • Contribute to the analysis of operational performance metrics.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in logistics or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in logistics, operations, or customer service is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Availability to work part-time hours as scheduled.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Maintain a stationary position for extended periods; move about the office, operate computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee is required to lift boxes up to 20 pounds. 

SCHEDULING

This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. An employee in this position must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings, during peak periods.

TRAVEL

Local travel is required. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special training/conferences.
